Quick Update 4-26-12

I didn't get a chance to post after lunch yesterday, but I made some good progress on the British Guards units at lunch. So  little bit of the old WIPaL(What I Painted At Lunch) still lives. I got the tufts and swallows nests painted on the shoulders, the lacing on the jackets, the ever so small turnback of the coat at the waist(thin white line), and backpack straps.I also got the belts and the backpack shoulder and T straps on the first unit complete.

I was going to finish the belts and do the shakos at lunch today, but I got a request to participate in take your child to work day, so that usually means lunch out with dad. So no painting at lunch. But I like that painting at lunch will allow me some guilt-free painting time and it can actually be productive on assembly line painting.

Playing a play test of SFAR with the Basement Generals tonite, so we will see how that goes.

Post Apoc - Shanty Town and Rubble/Rubbish Piles

Well, I moved on to my Shanty Town and Rubbish Piles for my Post Apoc/Fallout project. I also base painted Post Apoc Building #4 this weekend.

Shanty Town. Here's some pics of the shanties primed, then the first set painted. All told, the first wave of the Shanty Town is 16 shanties. Most in pretty good disrepair, but also some that are faling down, not finished, or burned to the ground. I have been wanting to do a shanty town ever since I saw Gisby's Shanties he did for Kill Zone. Beautiful stuff. http://www.mts.net/~gisby/kizo/kzsquat.htm

Finished Shanties, burned down, unfinished, falling down.

Next is the Rubbish Piles. BAses made from CD's. Insulation foam build-ups, then various rubble from straws, balsa, basswood, paper, card, and plastic. 7 total. Great to break up fields of fire.

All of this is to get ready for Recruits in September. We are playtesting the new version of the Fistful of Lead Rules, Wasteland Warriors. Post apoc goodness from The Baron and the Lead Addict.

Hope you enjoy!

WIPAL - 6-24-10

What I Painted at Lunch. - Well really it was what I based and rebased for lunch.

I got the Centaurs mounted for tonight's game, as well as a few surprise units for tonight as well. Hidden in the box is some rebasing for my old Undead Army. The Orcs and Gobbo's will get some creepy support.

WIPAL 6-23-2010 and Basement of Doom

Work has been hectic, and now that the Basement of Doom has been completed (see below) I got a chance to actually paint at Lunch. This time it was finishing up a 15 man unit of Armored Centaurs for my BattleLore Project. The Baron and I are playing BL again tonite with the rest of the BAsement Generals, so should be some more pics of that tomorrow. enjoy.

WIPAL - 5-13-10

Well here it is day two.

I got 1 fig completed, and 1 well on the way.

The Adeptus fig is complete. I had a good detail paint on him, the realized it looked to nice and crisp for my Post Apoc dreams so I rust washed him, did some metal wear and fatigue, couple more washes. So now he's distressed and pretty dirty.

The Spyrer only got about 5 minutes because the adeptus fig took most of lunch. I got her leg armor, electro-glove and weapon hand base painted and highlighted. should wrap her up on Monday and will hopefully get to the pyro ganger.

I'm off to design a waterfall and prairie. Have a god weekend.

What I Painted at Lunch - WIPAL

I am starting a new project here at Lead Addict. Its called What I Painted at Lunch, or WIPAL for short. Since I really need to not go out and buy $10.00 lunches all week long, I have been brown bagging it on left overs. Its very hard, and without the interwebs, it would be nearly impossible. But I may have found a solution - painting.

I have tried this before, with no regular success, but maybe puttig it up will make me paint on my lunch hour instead of just surfing. And since the basement of doom precludes me from painting at home, this may give me a much needed fix for that too.

So here is my office and window. great view and a drawing table that is great for painting at, especially with all of the natural light.

Here is my paint box. My son's paints and holder that he doesn't use. Good paints too, the Reaper Master series. I like them and they are close to vallejo game color.

I have a bunch of figs. Post Apocalypse stuff of the old kind: Old school Citadel Gangers. I have been waiting a long time to paint these. Also throw in a Spyrer from Necromunda for good measure. Gonna use them for Necormunda/Mutants and Deathray Guns/Atomic Cafe. I'm in a nuke em all sort of mind right now.

I also have a selection of Reaper Fantasy guys too as back up. Its actually the last few of my goal for Fantasy guys for Song of Blades and Heroes and RPG figs. One of my Projects for the winter that the basement of doom derailed.

And a whole box of 15mm Demonworld elf figs for my Battle Lore project:

So here's What I Painted at Lunch - 5/13/2010:

Group Photo: All Citadell. All old. l to r: A Necormunda Spryer, Ganger, Adeptus Mechanicus
Adeptus Mechanicus going to be repurposed as ancient Power Armor for MDRG. Love this fig. It looks like the armor from Fallout 3
Citadel Spyrer from Necromeunda. Had all the Spyrers. Totally unfair, but a blast to play. She will be a part of my tech gang. With a mix of really old tech gangers and Van Saar's.
another shot of her
A misc ganger guy.

So that's it. I got prety far on 2 figs, statred on a 3rd while ink was drying on the other two. I would like to do 3-5 figs a week. Over the summer that would be 36-60 figs. That would be sweet. When I finish these guys, i will bring on some Copplestone Future Wars stuff.
