Hello fellow lead addicts. Hope you had a great Christmas and New Years! Hope that it was productive on the family, friends, sanity or miniatures fronts.
While I had big plans, I had a much more modest approach when the rubber hit the road.
Favorite thing about vacation:
Sleeping in and then starting the day with Star Wars Battlefront on XBOX One. look for the ole lead addict creepin around. You'll find him there or still playing Titanfall.
I was less productiove on the finishing projects front, but I was pretty effective in a longer project I have been working on. Reboxing my mini cases. I have found the perfect plastic mini boxes that stack great on my bookshelves. I completed the reboxing and lining of my entire painted collections. So that was a big one.
I also got a bunch of figs built and mounted and ready to prime for Dragon Rampant. I now have a Bretonnian, Undead and Elf army mostly ready, a Dwarf army to be painted, and a Chaos Maruader army ready to be painted. Much fun, even though I swore I would never single base a Fantasy Army again in my life. I do have a bunch of new minis from the Dungeon Saga Kickstarter so an Infernal army isn't out of the question.
Hoping to get some painting done to finish off the Bretonnians or Undead this weekend, then the High Elves. Would be nice to button up those three first, then go to the new Armies.
Look at this plastic production model of Conan from the Conan boardgame Kickstarter. Most excellent. Delivery is way late, but honestly, as long as they take their time and delver what was promised at the quality they promised, I am ok. If they take the Mantic route and hurry everything and the end result is marginal, then what a loss. HEre's hoping...
And I failed to mention we have a new protector in the workshop. Cobbled together from teeth of a hell hound and mostly piss and vinegar we now have Bourbon the Protector running around causing havoc and keeping intruders at bay with the other guardians Barley and Reggie. BE afraid. Be very afraid.
Happy painting gang.

Vacation Means Workshop of Doom Fun!
Well fair readers of the old Blog, it's been a really busy couple of years for the Leadaddict. Between Coaching Football, Being a Football Parent, selling my business, huge demands at work, and an incredibly busy family life, there ain't been many candles burned in the old Workshop of Doom.
But I am here to tell you, the ole addict is gonna have some time to hit this thing right. Starting tomorrow I am on vacation til January 4th. And beside all of my family and friend commitments and the holiday, this old grognard is gonna paint and build armies and terrain. I can't wait. Here's what's on the block to be worked on. A nice mix of old and new:
Lead Addict's Vacation Projects
Necromunda
Frostgrave
I have gotten all of the Frostgrave stuff from the first two Nickstarters and have been working on terrain, so I am looking forward to finishing some ruins and knocking out some warbands.
Since Dragon Rampant is coming out soon, I need to get some armies ready for that. I have Undead mostly done, generic human medieval (bretonnians) mostly done, and a couple of units of Dwarves started. Need to get a full complement of High Elves and Dwarves finished.
A couple of us Basement Generals have agreed to dust off our Necromunda and play some this winter, I have 3 gangs done, time to dust off the unpainted ones and paint them up and have more options and base paint my terrain.
And as the Baron and I get ready for our Fistful of Lead: Wasteland Warriors Kickstarter, time to paint some more figs and finish more have finished terrain.
And I continue to lust after Onslaughts Epic figs. So I may put in a small notTau order and have some 6mm fun as well.
Ambitious. Yes, But as I get back into the swing of things, I wanted to limit my choices, but have a variety I would enjoy. So If I get a unit form each category I'll be happy. We shall see...
Best wishes and Merry Christmas to all

I finished my first two stands of shooties for Mayhem fantasy mass battle game. High elves from GW. Archer unit and bolt thrower unit.
The next units are Spears:

and a General/Hero:
The next batch is single mounted fantasy adventurers for dungeon bashing and warband skirmishing.

Inspired? Maybe...Mayhem
My work load and coaching schedules really wreaked havoc on my interest in gaming this fall. And once you are out of it for a while, at least for me, it takes a bit to get back in. But I found myself with a few hours on sunday after the Chiefs game (I hate you crybaby Phillip Rivers), so I cleaned up the Workshop of Doom, it was an absolute mess, and thought about what to work on.
I have talked about scraping, gluing to paint sticks and priming figs as prep for when the weather turns. I am absolutely surrounded by primed and ready figs. So of course, I started a newish project.
28mm High Elves.
I had thought I would simply sell my GW 28mm stuff since I was doing big battles with Commands and Colors, and Hail Caesar! Fantasy in 15mm. Wasn't going to do anything but individually mounted warbands (30-40 figs) in 28mm. But then I played Mayhem at the Baron's Chateau and thought that I could paint about 60 figs and have a nice sized contingent for the game. Its a pretty fun game. Get it at Wargame Vault. A base is a unit. We use 60mm stands. That's up to 8 figs a stand depending on the size of the figs.
So I broke out that way to big and old High Elf army sitting in boxes and still shrink wrapped in many cases, and voila! I have on paint sticks 2 Units of Spear, 2 Units of Bow, 3 Units of Bolt Throwers, 1 Unit of Halberds, 1 Unit of Axes, 1 Unit of Great Swords, 1 Unit of Light Bow, 2 Units of Cav, 1 Dragon, General Stand, 1 Hero, 1 Magic User. That's a Total of 72 figs and its a complete faction.
When we played the other night we had 6-7 units and a General stand. The above gives me 14 units and a General, Hero and Mage. So lots of options. And can also Double as 2 factions.
I hope to get the basic units done over thanksgiving break. We shall see. My brother and sister in-law are coming for thanksgiving so, probably a lot of drinking and less painting.

| GW house painted Phoenix Guard. Some of my favorite figs and a great paint job. |
| Not mine either, but very nice and clean. I like them. |
