WIPAL - 6-24-10

What I Painted at Lunch. - Well really it was what I based and rebased for lunch.

I got the Centaurs mounted for tonight's game, as well as a few surprise units for tonight as well. Hidden in the box is some rebasing for my old Undead Army. The Orcs and Gobbo's will get some creepy support.

WIPAL 6-23-2010 and Basement of Doom

Work has been hectic, and now that the Basement of Doom has been completed (see below) I got a chance to actually paint at Lunch. This time it was finishing up a 15 man unit of Armored Centaurs for my BattleLore Project. The Baron and I are playing BL again tonite with the rest of the BAsement Generals, so should be some more pics of that tomorrow. enjoy.

Charlie Don't Surf

Or CDS is a much anticipated rules set from Too Fat Lardies. Its a very good set of rules for company sized engagements in Vietnam. The smallest operational unit is the squad, so it requires a higher level of tactics than most Vietnam games that you may be used to as squad based skirmish games.

Haven't played them yet but will be. Integral is the card based turn system, which I love and use on games that don't even have one, and the Big Guy system. The Big Guy is the one who makes it all happen. They are the commanders and leaders of the forces. And as such, can lend their direct influence on operations. Its a good system.

I would highly recommend it.

I have socked away a bunch of 28mm TAG Vietnam stuff(brilliant by the way) and models and hueys. Niot much on the way of M113's though and trucks. So could get expensive at $45.00 a pop. I also have a good start on 15mm Vietnam as I was beginning a project on Vietnam for Crossfire! so I can go either way.

DONE...almost

I am almost done. I have almost finished the basement of doom. It looks pretty good. I will photo when its complete. I am only missing a bar top (Stainless steel hopefully) and a few minor things.

I am so ready for this to be over. I can' even describe it to you. Its like working in the salt mines. every friday when I get home from work I go down to the basement and stay there all weekend. Its been a real grind. and I am a perfectionist, but some things are out of my technical expertise, so I have to live with some imperfections.

Well now its almost done. This may be the first saturday I have had off in 5 months. So after that, I will put the workshop of doom back together, fix the closet of doom, and get ready to paint again.
